Impressions of #yogawall

Notwithstanding the fact that it’s been a long time since the idea of yoga-wall actually appeared, a systematic guideline on its use was so far missing. The book of Dmitry Danilov, a well-known yoga researcher, traveler and practitioner fills the said gap. Having synthesized the achievements of traditional yoga schools that the author had the opportunity to study at with research findings obtained by present-day yoga-therapists, Dmitry has elaborated balanced sets of yoga-wall exercises that may be useful for beginners as well as experienced practitioners.

#yogawall practice

The practice of yoga-wall exercises may come as a preparatory stage for mastering unaided performance of complicated asanas. For instance, the headstand. Doing this asana on yoga-wall allows staying upside-down with no load imposed on the neck. Thus the practitioner can get the spatial sensation of the body, feel the muscles involved in the exercise performance and release unneeded fears.

Author’s note #yogawall

Aspiration to experiment with one’s body – this is the type of desire I want to induce in every reader of the Yoga Wall book, the work that expounds the basic principles of yoga-wall props utilization. Yoga on the rope wall continues the tradition and gives new opportunities for becoming aware of the body at a whole and every separate part of it.
